2008-2012 Alternative Governance
In April 2008 a number of concerned members met to explore options for keeping our Branch alive. We did not want to disband, did not want to merge with another chapter and yet did not have enough volunteers to run the organization in the same way. After much discussion the group determined that working as a Coordinating Committee would be a doable solution.
We identified the minimum roles needed to continue (noted with * below) and defined role Responsibility as: taking ownership for seeing the job is done – it does not mean doing all the work. In years when there is no one to fill a role, as has happened with Secretary, it becomes a rotating responsibility.
We value collaboration and the wisdom within the Branch, and call on all Branch members when things need to be accomplished. We recognize that life has many demands and integrate AAUW at a pace that is sustainable.

Convener* - Ainsley Nies (fills the role of Administrative contact as required by AAUW Bylaws - AKA President). The Convener coordinates the Committee, facilitates meetings and does her best to energize the Branch.
Treasurer* - Christine Krenzel
Secretary* - Shirley Drye
Program Coordinator* - Joan Denney
Membership Coordinator* - Deborah McCarthy
Communication (Webmistress, non-Newsletter) - Ainsley Nies
Newsletter Editor - Anne deJarnatt
Scholarship Coordinator - Irene Klien
Tech Trek Coordinator - Arlene Hoffman
Co-conspirators - Members who consistently attend meetings and work on projects but to not want a formal role at this time. We appreciate the continuing support of Erika Rigling, Mar Kaden, Donna Myint and Nattie Juvland.
All Coordinating Committee meetings are open to all Branch members.
